Things we love
All things ZIMMI
Pre and post planning FUN
Not ready to call it quits after House of Zim? Or fancy starting early with lunch and pre-drinks? We've curated a list of local spots near our venues that have your name all over them!
Tasty treats
Tottis CBD is an additional location of the Bondi favourite. The official byline is ‘plenty of house-made antipasti to choose from, including sardines, kingfish crudo, marinated peppers and burrata, and grilled snacks like king prawns with chilli and fennel.’ Our favourite is the wood-fired bread. Goes with everything and is fine as a stand-alone. The Jodie’s can only look at it longingly now as we have both gone gluten-free. Sad face.
Open from 12pm until late.

One we haven’t tried but is on the list is Esteban. The sister restaurant of Tequila Mockinbird.
They talk up ‘regional dishes and traditional Mexican cooking techniques, incorporating a modern Australian twist. Each element is made in house - including our soft corn tortillas made fresh everyday.’
They are open 12pm to 12am so good for pre and post. They also have a pre-theatre menu you can take advantage of; A 3-course set menu for $65 from 5pm.
Just interested in drinks? Happy hour runs 4 - 6pm.

Stitch bar was inspired by late night diners found in the back streets of New York, it has an impressive back bar of American spirits and a food menu to match. This is one we recommend for post-drinks and fuel. Think burgers and fries. Tasty food that isn’t the healthiest but totally worth it never-the-less!
Drinks
The Jodie’s current favourite is Jam Bar. Opposite Tottis CBD we have never heard a bad song played in there. Are we the oldest people in there? Yes mostly, does it matter? It doesn’t bother us and nobody has ever passed comment. Only thing to note is it’s a pretty small space so you have to be comfortable dancing in close quarters. If you’re there around 4ish to have a few drinks before 6pm it’s less busy then anyway.

Tiva is one for post-planning. Opening at 8pm it goes until 4am if that’s your jam. No judgement. Tiva wants to bring back the glory days of debaucherous sophistication. Descend downstairs, where Champagne flows, cocktails shake, shoulders drop and hips sway. We love to think of our ladies carrying the night on. We’ll dream of you from our beds 😉

When you’ve got your glad-rags on Dean and Nancy on 22 is a perfect choice. With stunning views over Sydney, happy hour is perfectly designed to run 5 - 6pm. We may or may not have spent any number of hours in there sipping on margaritas.
Like to plan yourself? York, Kent and Clarence Streets have created their own trifecta with the
YCK laneways website.
We’ve made a bunch of lists from getting ready to dancing at home and chilling out on a weekend. We hope you enjoy.
