WHO are these
2 Jodies?
Honestly, we ask ourselves the same thing, often
mid-whirlwind.
What you need to know about us is that one time too many we’d lined up at a bar, only to find the wrong DJ, the wrong crowd, or a room packed with 20-somethings. And honestly by the time we had wrangled diaries, babysitters and group chats, who has time to gamble on the vibe? We wanted a GUARANTEED great night out.
Women-only, music we love, and a space that feels fabulous. Because joy isn’t a luxury: it’s a necessity. Can anyone relate?
And so, House of Zim was born.
We’ve got you…
We know the juggle: work, kids, pets, WhatsApp chaos, HRT, and trying (valiantly) to squeeze in some squats. It’s a lot.
But somewhere between the to-do lists and turmeric shots, we realised what had quietly slipped off the radar, for us, and so many women like us - FUN. Pure, unadulterated, for-no-good-reason fun.
Not a catch-up. Not a milestone. Not another self-improvement moment. Just joy, because why the hell not?
But why stop at one sparkling night out? What if House of Zim became a full-blown remedy? A movement for women who want joy , women who want more dancing, more laughter, more ‘remember when’ moments.

It all kicked off 15 years ago with a fateful Seek ad. One Jodie (J2) was knee-deep in branding briefs and in desperate need of backup. The other (J1) had just landed in sunny Australia and had never set foot in an agency - but the job talked about a massive disco ball (another story for another time) - and the rest as they say is history!
We clicked, as work wives and friends. and before long, J2 was sponsoring J1 to stay in Australia.

Yes! J1 fell for J2’s brother (that’s a story for another time). Fast forward, and they’re not just work wives — they’re sisters-in-law. (If only we’d met in reverse order — would’ve saved a fortune on visas.)
We share the same first name, obviously. But also same full name (J2’s maiden name), thanks to marrying into the family. Same name, same Leo star sign, and birthdays just one day apart: July 26 and July 27. Spooky? Yes. Confusing for lawyers and banks? Absolutely. Cases of mistaken identity? Regularly.
And if that wasn’t enough, J1 now bought and lives in J2’s old apartment. Anyone getting single white female vibes? Haha!

We will run the House of Zim nights once every 2 months. Always finding a new, interesting venue to make saying yes to joy, a no-brainer.
We do free monthly walks (coffee and wine encouraged, depending on time). We also plan on delicious dinners and weekends away.
Oh, and because we love the idea of a quiet sisterhood spotting each other in House of Zim threads with a knowing nod — we’ve been busy making merch too. We’ve basically found a legitimate reason to play dress-ups. Although that misses the point, doesn’t it? No reasons required - it’s just FUN 😜
